American Quarter Horse Foundation Scholarships

Youth Scholarships
Available Scholarships: Twenty-seven
Total Amount: $8,000 - $2,000 per year for duration of four years
Three years AQHA/AQHYA membership required.
Must rank within upper 25% of high school graduating class.
May apply senior year of high school.

Racing Scholarships
Available Scholarships: Five
Total Amount: $8,000 - $2,000 per year for duration of four years
Current AQHA/AQHYA membership required.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
May apply senior year of high school or while enrolled in an accredited college, universtiy or vocational school.
Awarded to members who have experience in the racing industry or are seeking a career in the racing industry. May specialize in veterinary medicine, racetrack management or related fields.

Career Path Scholarships
Excellence in Equine/Agricultural Involvement Scholarship
Available Scholarships: One
Total Amount: $25,000 - $6,250 per year for duration of four years
One year or more AQHA/AQHYA membership required.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
May apply senior year of high school or while enrolled in an accredited college, universtiy or vocational school.
Awarded to members who exemplifies the characteristics of leadership and excellence acquired through participation in equine and or agriculture activities.

Farm & Ranch Heritage Scholarship
Available Scholarships: One
Total Amount: $10,000 - $2,500 per year for duration of four years
One year or more AQHA/AQHYA membership required.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
May apply senior year of high school or while enrolled in an accredited college, universtiy or vocational school.
Awarded to members pursuing a degree in education or nursing with intent to practice as a certified teacher, RN, LVN etc.

Journalism or Communications Scholarship
Available Scholarships: One
Total Amount: $8,000 - $2,000 per year for duration of four years
One year AQHA/AQHYA membership required.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
May apply senior year of high school or while enrolled in an accredited college, universtiy or vocational school.
Awarded to members pursuing a degree in news, photo-journalism, editorial or print journalism, or communications.

Telephony Equine Veterinary Scholarship
Available Scholarships: One
Total Amount: $10,000 for duration of one year
One year or more AQHA membership required.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
May apply senior year of high school or while enrolled in an accredited college, universtiy or vocational school.
Awarded to members pursuing a degree in an equine-focused veterinary practice who are third year students in an equine veterinary medicine or surgery program.
